Satori's story
Dick Satori lives a storied life; from joining a 3 Ring Circus when he was 15, founding Agitprop group ‘Cowboys Opposed to War’, teaching yoga and meditation, advocating for recovering addicts, & touring his solo show in his tiny house 2.0 (Sprinter Van).
Satori's shared his unique brand of theater in over 40 cities, 5 countries, and 1 Jail. He studied intensively with Adam Wade at Magnet Theater Training Center in New York, Acting at North Carolina School of the Arts, Clown and Mime in Montreal, and Buddhism at Shambhala Meditation Center.
He won 1st Place in NYC's Comedy Celler owned Fat Black Pussy Cat's Storytelling Contest, 'What's Your Story?' with Ben Bailey, 3rd place in his first Moth StorySLAM NYC, 3rd place at Story Fest Short SLAM in Bethesda Maryland, 2nd Place is his second Moth StorySLAM in Washington DC, and won 2nd place in the 2015 Catch A Rising Star new talent competition as well as twice being awarded the Will Rogers Memorial Foundation’s comedy award.
Dick's participated in NYC's StoryFEST, NYC's SOLOCOM Festival, Austin’s FronteraFest, Richmond’s Firehouse Fringe, Providence Fringe, Festival Montréal Complètement Cirque, S.F.’s Street Theater Fest, NYC’s International Clown Theater Festival, NYC’s International Fringe Festival, Emerging Artists Theater Festival off Broadway, and the Atlanta Fringe Festival.
